My son was diagnosed with Auditory Processing Disorder after his kindergarten teacher expressed some concerns. He was high energy from ADHD and could barely follow a single step instruction. A speech therapist recommended Dr. Kavita Kaul, and for the first time we found someone who completely understood his issues and how to help. Michael and Dr. Kaul just clicked, she was strict, but he never minded going to the weekly therapy. And he needed a lot of therapy, but it was so worth it. Over time, his decoding, reading comprehension, and self-expression improved greatly. It took a while, but he advanced to multi-step instructions, and this really helped him with sports as well. Michael also made improvements with the Fast Forward on-line program that Kavita recommended in addition to her therapy. Michael is now 21 years old, a junior at The University of Delaware majoring in Criminal Justice with a minor in Political Science and concentration in Law and Society. He has a 3.93 cumulative GPA and will be applying to law schools next year. He has great work ethic, he knows he is just as smart as anyone, it just may take a little more time studying. I never thought back when Michael was in kindergarten that he would be such an academic success, but I know that Dr. Kavita Kaul and her therapy made it all possible. I always update her these many years later all his accomplishments, because she was such a huge help to him.

H had a wonderful weekend filled with confidence that doesn’t always come naturally to him. He played in a hockey tournament and excitedly celebrated every one of his 3 goals compared to his usual reserved reaction. For the first time ever he ordered for himself at a restaurant without being shy or rubbing his eyes and spoke up. Even smiling for photos, his smiles are always forced, but not this weekend. Whenever he wants to invite a neighbor over to play he asks me to text their moms to invite them. No matter how much I encourage him to knock on their door himself, he can’t muster up the courage. On Friday he ran out the house saying that he was heading down the road to a friends house to invite him over. Small victories, but victories indeed
While playing hockey he’s hardly falling over on the ice these days. And he won player of the game on Saturday and got the trophy for player of the tournament and accepted the trophies with big smiles and eye contact.

We had a wonderful experience working with Dr. Kaul at Hear, Express, Learn. She was knowledgeable, patient, and truly invested in helping our son succeed. From the very beginning, she took the time to understand his specific challenges and created a thoughtful, individualized plan.
Our son completed APD Buffalo Model therapy, along with CAPDOTS, The Listening Program, Integrated Listening Program, and Fast ForWord under her guidance. Over time, we saw meaningful improvements in his auditory processing, listening skills, expressive language, and overall confidence. Tasks that once felt overwhelming became much more manageable for him.
Most notably, we saw measurable growth in his psychoeducational testing scores from elementary school through high school. The progress was not just noticeable day-to-day — it was reflected in formal testing and academic performance, which gave us tremendous reassurance that the interventions were truly effective.
Dr. Kaul communicates clearly with parents, sets realistic expectations, and celebrates progress along the way. Her expertise in auditory processing and language development is evident, and we felt supported throughout the entire process.
We are incredibly grateful for the positive impact she has had on our son and would highly recommend her to any family seeking specialized support for auditory processing or language challenges.

We are grateful beyond words that Dr. Kaul was recommended to our family. After three years of visiting multiple doctors and therapists, I knew in my heart something was holding my son back. Each provider recognized small deficits, but they were often described as not significant enough on their own. What was missed was his auditory processing disorder and how it was impacting him academically and emotionally.
From the very first assessment, Dr. Kaul identified every concern I had been carrying for years. She took the time to truly see the full picture of my son and how his needs are interconnected. Her holistic approach made us feel understood and hopeful for the first time.
Dr. Kaul brings an incredible depth of knowledge and expertise, paired with patience, encouragement, and a genuine belief in our son’s potential. Under her care, we have seen wonderful progress. His reading stamina has improved, homework is no longer such an exhausting battle, and we are seeing measurable academic growth. Beyond academics, his anxiety has decreased, his handwriting has improved, along with many other gains that have strengthened his confidence.
I am forever grateful to have Dr. Kaul in my son’s life. She is the one doctor who truly understands all facets of him. I wholeheartedly recommend her to any family seeking help with auditory-speech-language deficits.
Thank you Dr Kaul, you are one of a kind!

My daughter Rachel is 19 years old and she is on the Autism Spectrum. She has been working with Dr Kaul for almost 5 years. When we started in 2019, my daughter could not follow a one step directions or understand the meaning of simple words used in her environment. Other speech professionals had always applied accommodations for Rachel’s significant speech production problems. Dr Kaul is the first speech professional we found willing to work on the root causes of her speech production issues.
Dr. Kaul involves us in Rachel’s therapy and homework. We are encouraged to sit in during the therapy time, so we can practice the work we are expected to do at home. Dr. Kaul utilizes multiple tools and exercises to help our daughter. She is very forthcoming with answers to questions, and has an innate ability to answer why a particular element is important to Rachel’s progress.
Rachel has made great progress since coming to Dr. Kaul. She is able to use her communication device and verbal speech to make her wants and needs known. She has a new found sense of humor and will say things out of the blue that are very appropriate to the situation. My family and I will be forever grateful to Dr Kaul for helping Rachel connect with those around her and we hope to work with Dr Kaul for many years to come.

Dr. Kaul is the BEST Provider I have for my child. My kiddo has some very serious auditory challenges/struggles. His disability is just the beginning…he understands that he has a disability which affects confidence, behavior and self-esteem. Dr. Kaul is very conscientious of all the factors leading to progress. Not to mention, She CARES!!! She teaches with compassion and structure!
I commute over an hour (one way) each week for her specialized expertise. She has a high level of knowledge and understands all the moving parts. She helps me understand them time and time again. She even collaborates outside of therapy sessions with my kiddos school and occupational therapist to help support my kiddos progress. I wish I had found her many years prior but I’m thankful nonetheless I was able to find her specialized skillset for my child’s future growth!!

Based on a recommendation from our audiologist in the UK, we sought treatment from Dr. Kaul for our son, who was diagnosed with auditory processing disorder (APD). In our country, some believe that APD is not treatable.
However, after months of treatment (which was given in online weekly sessions) and benefiting from Dr. Kaul’s expert knowledge, our son has made remarkable progress. He has surpassed our expectations, catching up with his peers and even outperforming some of them. His comprehension has improved, he speaks more clearly, and he has better focus and attention. These achievements seemed unimaginable a year ago. Dr. Kaul has been incredible, demonstrating deep understanding, extensive knowledge, and expertise in APD.
The most remarkable aspect of the treatment is Dr. Kaul’s ability to connect with our son, making the therapy enjoyable for him. She is patient, kind, and has a unique talent for making children feel comfortable and confident. She is one of a kind, and we only wish we could replicate her so that more children are able to benefit from her treatment. We are forever grateful and look forward to completing the final phase of the therapy.

Our daughter was evaluated for speech and language difficulties when she was 12 years old after struggling in school and at home to articulate words, read accurately and be understood consistently. The testing results indicated deficits in phonological processing and reading with recommendations for a speech and language therapist. She participated in both in person and virtual learning at Hear Express Learn Process with Dr. Kaul for the last few years. In addition to her appointments with Dr. Kaul, our daughter practices at home using the tools Dr. Kaul taught her to significantly improve her speech and reading skills overall. We have seen noticeable differences in her ability to articulate and keep up with other kids her age. Our family would recommend Dr. Kaul’s programs to anyone who needs support and assistance with auditory and speech skills.

We knew our 10 year old son was struggling to fully integrate with the world around him, but both our pediatrician and our elementary school IEP specialists were unable to identify the root cause or provide him with meaningful support. I told a friend in our neighborhood about our child’s struggles, and she recommended we try Kavita Kaul for Auditory Processing Therapy.
During our very first meeting with Kavita, it was clear that we had finally found someone who understood our son’s struggles. She performed an evaluation of our son and quickly identified our son’s main issues with processing information. She helped us to understand that because our son is expending so much brain power to process sounds and words, he has less neural capacity available for executive function and emotional integration. As a parent, this was invaluable insight; it felt like a missing piece of our son’s developmental puzzle had clicked into place.
Kavita’s specific therapy protocol has been helping our son to build and strengthen the neural pathways he needs to quickly process sounds. In doing so, we’ve seen true progress spill over into other areas of his development. He can now understand social and emotional queues and context in a way that he previously could not. He’s better able to regulate his emotions and can successfully take on more complex, multi-step tasks. We’ve even seen his sense of humor start to blossom. His brain isn’t as focused on making sense of the sounds of the joke, so he has the capacity to understand it and laugh at it!

My daughter has improved so much with her comprehension of words and sounds, as well as her fluency in speech. She enjoys coming to each session. We have been given at home exercises to continue her training in between sessions, which has helped dramatically. My daughter would not be doing well in school if we hadn’t started therapy with Kavita. Thank you so much!

My son, Cedric (who we affectionately call “QB”) was diagnosed with an Auditory Processing Disorder (APD) in December 2017 by Dr. Jay Lucker. Even though I am a healthcare professional, I was unfamiliar with this diagnosis and what it ‘really meant’ for my son. Dr. Lucker was optimistic about my son’s future and encouraged us to seek the support of Dr. Kavita Kaul. Prior to seeking out her services, QB was struggling with multi-step directions, was frequently frustrated when introduced to new concepts, he seemed overwhelmed by the expectations at school and he would come home each day completely exhausted and cranky. In addition, he was struggling with developing his reading skills because he could not process much of instruction his teacher was providing. We met Dr. Kaul for the first time on January 2, 2018 and we began services with her at the end of that month. In just 4 ½ short months, QB has developed the ability to understand and follow multi-step directions, his anxiety when being introduced to challenging concepts has decreased, his attention span has increased and he comes home each day with a level of confidence and pride that we have never seen before. He has begun reading at grade level and comes home excited to read to his sister and other family members! I am grateful for the work that Dr. Kaul is doing. She is assisting QB to develop and strengthen skills that will continue to benefit him both academically and well into adulthood. I encourage any and all parents who have children with APD to seek her out. She is a life-changer!

Dr. Kavita Kaul has been exceptionally helpful in diagnosing both of my children with auditory processing disorder and providing them the therapy they need to be successful in and out of the classroom

When we first brought our son John to Dr. Kaul, he did not like to read and was scoring at “Not Meeting Expections”. John was also very distracting in class, both to himself and the other children. Since he has been seeing Dr. Kaul, his behavior has begun to improve, and most importantly John’s reading has taken off. He finished the school year with an “Exceeds Expectations” and is 2 full reading levels ahead of where they wanted him to be. His spelling has also seen a remarkable increase. Now, John brings us books to read to us and even challenges himself with more advanced level material.

APD Therapy Testimonial: My son was who has Autism was diagnosed with APD 3 years ago at age 8 and since then we started the journey of APD remediation therapy. I have been thoroughly pleased with the benefit and incredible advancements this has provided to us, in the overall function of my child. He is able to tolerate loud noises, decoding at age level as tested by school per Woodcock Johnson 2 assessment, is more regulated, able to have at least one verbal exchange with another person, reading level improved. His motor difficulties have also resolved since starting this: my child is able to eat different foods, easily work with fasteners, zip, loops, buttons and play tennis! Important to note, there was no Occupational Therapy provided and this was the only therapy that was given to my child in the 3 year span. Overall, I feel it was one of the best things we did when he needed it most. Our therapist has been always been proactive and has tried various interventions/ programs and evaluated if they helped him. Thanks Swapna
My eighteen-year-old son has only been working with Kavita for a short time, but his understanding about his own auditory processing has been invaluable. He wanted to work with her because he found the lessons productive and helpful. He liked that she had many adult clients and was reassured that he was like others that needed these skills and training to be successful in life. As a parent, I felt he was recognizing when to “lean in” to a conversation and didn’t disappear as often at the end of dinner. He developed confidence and was able to interview confidently for his upcoming career. We are grateful for the six months of work with Kavita, and hope he can continue when he is on his next break.

My daughter has made significant improvement in her ability to differentiate and isolate sounds since she began seeing Dr. Kaul. She has also improved by 3 reading levels since she began therapy with Dr. Kaul just a few months ago, which has really helped her confidence in reading. My daughter doesn’t get frustrated as easily with difficult multi-step processing and short-term memory tasks, which has made a huge impact on her willingness to complete academic work, both at school and at home. Her stamina for reading and phonetic work has also increased. Dr. Kaul and auditory processing therapy has made an enormous positive impact on my daughter!
